ok without reading the full thread and only the first four posts I have a small bit to say:

The minipets were a spectacular idea! I do not think ANYTHING should be changed or should have been done different - its random! No one wants to see a bunch of charr running around anymore than they want to get stuck with a stupid plague devourer. But there are some people out there willing to buy them no matter what they are.

Be greatful that out of all the things going to heck lately, this was one huge success!

And it is better to give than to recieve and don't look a friggen gift horse in the mouth.

You tell your old ill granny how much you hated that sweater she bought you for Christmas >_>

My mistake writing such a vague statement. You'll see I addressed that idea prior to your post.

Why Anet didn't do it this way I'll never know.
Mm. Someone's got quite a high opinion of himself.

Pets were a random birthday present, plain and simple be happy you got one, i still have to wait 11 months.

Instead of asking them to enhance birthday present features, why not ask them to put new areas, fix bugs, things that will actually make the game better. I like the idea of birthday presents its a way to show ppl that have been playing for so long that anet cares, take it as the gift was intended and look for game areas that need to be fixed and enhanced..

Agreed, its amazing that Anet do all this fantastic stuff, provide us with what i still think is the best MMORPG out there at the moment, for no monthly service charge, and they do stuff they arnt obligated to do, like Day of the Tengu or these Mini-pets and people still find ways to moan and complain about it because its not exactly how they would have wanted it.

Anet can't appease your every whim and fancy, otherwise necessary game fixes woulnt take place. And if your not happy with your pet, sell it, buy a new one with the cash, or exchange it, or worry baout something important.

Going slightly off topic, yes I cmplain about not accessing content with all characters, but thats something we were told we would get, freebies like this shouldnt be moaned about, If i was Anet I'd have stopped doing this sorta stuff a long time ago if all peopel did was complain.

I think the Tengu masks are ugly, I think the mini-pets are pointless, but i appreciate the effor tthey have put in to make our gaming even more enjoyable.

When I was a little child my father used to say me: "if someone give you a present, don't look at it, how much it costs, or if you like, just smile and say thank you!"

So.. Thank You A-Net

The infinite supply thing is just rediculous, people are trying to sell the things for 50-200k and they can keep doing so until they flood the market since they will never run out. I really support the character linking bit,.

I like the mini pets , I do like the mini pet fight idea, that would be so funny to watch my necrid horseman scrap with a mini hydra. or mini shiro vs mini rurik LOL good fun. But the pet feeding and such is silly, just a pet fight would be awesome. /petfight * FTW....

I wouldnt mind if they added a few more types in over the next few months. It would be neat to get a mini flame djinn or mini ice golom for my ele. :-) But I still think all the current ones are pretty neat (and one day I will get a Kirin.)

I see it like giving baseball cards as a gift. You've got a sealed pack and have no idea if you'll get a Ken Griffey Jr or a Roger Clemons. Some folks will really want certain kinds and because these mini-pets are tradeable, anyone can aquire any pet they want IF they can afford to buy it. In the meantime, the rest of us can enjoy a pleasant suprise every 12 months one of our chars is around.

Of course I do hope that my Ranger gets a mini-PS3 for his birthday.

I love mini pets I got three at the mo which I bought i may add I can't wait for my ranger Tien ak to get one only like in august/november.

Though I do agree it should be account based I mean who are we to know we had birthdays = )
I do think that it won't change tho i mean whats done is done and thats it. And for people saying they should be customised come on guys its bad enough for event hats to be customised

I feel kinda cheated on, because I delete my characters periodically as I feel like trying out a new playing style.

if i were A-Net and i read all your complaining about a free gift that i had given you i would omit your account from getting one. its free, they didnt have to do it,and your probably going to sell it anyways so quit you complaining you spoiled little children.

Why are there all these posts about suggestions for what a character should get for their birthday? Generally birthday presents aren't something you can pick or polite people dont complain about them later. If you dont like it I say get something from it and sell it for a bunch of money.
